Thank you for visiting the Drummond House website. Here you will find all the information you need about our ministry and how we can begin a relationship with you.
There is a huge need. Waiting lists for subsidized housing can be 2-4 years. Children and mothers that are in high risk situations are often living in inappropriate conditions. 21% of single-parent families are living in poverty and are at risk of becoming homeless.
We want to provide hope.
The Drummond House Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration was a wonderful evening, thank you to Pastor Jason Small from Community Church for prayer and blessings, Ron Cicuttini and Craig Sampson from Weeks Home Hardware who presented Drummond House with a $5,000 gift and to Bev and Wayne who made this special event a reality. Families enjoyed hot apple cider from the Apple Shack and cookies from Voortmans. Thank you to all for attending our special celebration under a beautiful moonlit sky.
We would like to thank everyone for making our first annual Cookie Walk a huge success! Over 500 people visited our event which consisted of our first cookie walk, 13 vendor tables, raffles, a huge Christmas tree silent auction, yummy and always popular Christmas Cafe and tables full of Christmas designer decorations for sale. A special thank you to Santa who travelled a far distance to greet the children! This event could not have been possible without the following whom we wish to thank: Edie and Bruce Gray, Craig Sampson, Colleen Woolsey, Natalie and Anita, the many Waterdown High School students and Rescued and Restored student volunteers, the Drummond House fundraising committee, Lindsey from Flamborough Baptist Church, Christine and her mother, Judy Tyrrell, Lindsey Glavaz, Liz Walker, Charlotte, Francesco Testa for his amazing musical talents, Drummond House staff and the many volunteers who spent countless hours in preparation for this event before and during the day. Drummond House/Eagles Nest Association is very pleased to announce a New Project joining the 3R Program - Volunteer Engagement Through Seniors!
This new and exciting project will give seniors the opportunity to develop new skills through training sessions, offer their talents and knowledge to our store location, take on a mentorship role for our 3R participants and engage in a variety of fun and fulfilling volunteer positions.
This program will also host monthly social luncheons, recognize and reward participation, and give seniors the chance to make a difference in their community. We would like to sincerely thank the New Horizons for Seniors Program through HRDSC for the generous grant which will allow us to run this wonderful program over the coming year.
